Lukashenko: West inspired Belarus and Russia to intensify development

With their sanctions policy, the Western countries have pushed Belarus and Russia to more intensive development – as noted by President Aleksandr Lukashenko at a meeting with the Governor of the Nizhny Novgorod Region, Gleb Nikitin

In particular, the President noted a mutual desire of Belarus and the Nizhny Novgorod Region to increase trade turnover, “We have reserves, and these are huge reserves. It may seem strange, but sanctions are the most important reserve. Thank God that these sanctions have pushed us to get engaged into our own affairs in many ways – not to look around, not only to see what is good there, but also to create this good at home. The West, without realising it, has inspired Russia and Belarus to intensify their development. If someone is ready to join us in this regard, they will get a serious effect. As I always say, we simply need a little time to gain momentum."
