Lukashenko: we support our Russian brothers, but we do not forget about Ukrainians either

During the Christmas service at the church named after St. John the Miracle Worker of Shanghai and San Francisco in Minsk, the President sincerely and warmly thanked the abbess and the religious sisters of the St. Elisabeth Convent for all the good deeds they do

“Thank you very much for that. You have worked on a large scale – like no other monastery, so that to contribute to the prosperity of our society,” the Head of State said.

Aleksandr Lukashenko advised not to pay attention to malicious remarks on the part of ill-wishers. “Not long ago, our fugitives criticised us so much – those were even not fugitives but people who are paid money in the West – for your campaign dealing with the assistance to those who need it at the front. You are doing the right thing, so do not pay attention to a dozen or two people who have been paid [for that]. We are assisting not only our Russians. I have never hidden this, and my yesterday’s visit to the Russian military openly indicates that we have supported and still support our brothers. Meanwhile, we do not forget about Ukrainians as well. About 10 thousand people – who fled the war last year alone – have got permanent places of residence and a shelter in our country,” he said.

The Head of State stressed, “We should extend a helping hand, if we are capable of this, to everyone who needs it.”
