Lukashenko: we resolved issues worth billions of Dollars during talks with Xi Jinping in Samarkand
Issues worth billions of Dollars were resolved at a meeting of the leaders of Belarus and China in Samarkand during the SCO summit – as informed by the President of Belarus, Aleksandr Lukashenko, while visiting the Khatyn State Memorial Complex today, BelTA reports
"We have settled the issues worth billions of Dollars, matters dealing with cutting-edge technologies during the meeting with China alone,” the President stressed.
The Head of State recalled that the issue of production of Belarusian multiple launch rocket systems – later became known as Polonaise – had for the first time been raised at the same summit. Subsequently, China supported Belarus on this issue. "We are already doing everything now," Aleksandr Lukashenko stated.
The President added that, at the SCO summit, he held meetings with many heads of state: there were official negotiations, and some meetings were not covered by the TV. "I discussed issues with Azerbaijan and with the Turks – Recep Erdogan," he said. “When finding yourself in this stormy cauldron, you feel the nerve of the whole planet – and this is very important for the President. I need to integrate Belarus into this system of world relations."
