Lukashenko: we'll only give money for profitable projects

The enterprise manufactures components and units for the railway, mining and construction industries.
As he arrived, Aleksandr Lukashenko inquired about the prospects for the enterprise's development, given that the company’s output had slightly declined this year compared to 2024. Mikhail Saskevich, Director of the Saturn-1 metalworks, reported to the Belarusian leader that the enterprise had to master new types of components for railway tankers due to objective reasons. Today, Saturn-1 is signing contracts for 2026, and expanding its geographical reach, including to Kazakhstan.
Aleksandr Lukashenko stated that the railway freight market will always be in demand, "Our market is vast: Russia, Kazakhstan. No space that big can exist without railways. You are a seasoned person — you see the prospects, go for it. If you need something, we help. If it is beneficial for the country, then we’ll help. Let me put it this way: there is no extra money. That is a fact. But we don’t have any good promising projects for the money that we can allocate. So take advantage of this aspect. No one is giving away the money to anybody for nothing. We will only give money for something that will generate new money tomorrow and return these investments. That's all. It's time to stop fooling around. ‘Batka’ll help, Batka’ll pull us through’ [Batka is Aleksandr Lukashenko’s nickname; means father in Belarusian] — no more of this. We will pull you through. But we are not going to support that ‘foolishness’."
