Lukashenko: we’ll nip in the bud any prerequisites for development of events under Ukrainian or Middle Eastern scenario
A repeat of the disaster, as in Ukraine or the Middle East, is unacceptable for Belarus – as stated by President Aleksandr Lukashenko at today’s solemn meeting dedicated to Independence Day
The Head of State stressed that many countries around the globe became independent thanks to that Great Victory, “Many nations got the opportunity to choose their own path of development. Let me remind you that independence stands high, it really costs a lot. It is not just about the economy. We, Belarusians, paid the most terrible price for it. Therefore, we see a personal tragedy and we hear the echo of the Great Patriotic War in every new military conflict unleashed on the planet. We react more acutely than anyone else to events that force us to draw historical parallels. A repeat of the disaster, as in Ukraine or the Middle East, is absolutely unacceptable to us, and we will nip any prerequisites for the similar development of events in the bud. I say this to those who are behind every such scenario.”
