Lukashenko: we don't want any conflict on Belarus’ state border
This was stated by the Head of State during his meeting with the working group on finalising the new Constitution draft as he commented on the situation on the state border
“Our journalists and others correctly conclude that Poland needs this conflict today. They have enough internal problems and those dealing with the European Union and thus they are aggravating tensions and even start shooting at the state border,” the President stressed. “I want to emphasise once again: we do not want any conflict on our state border. This is absolutely not to our advantage. We do not need these poor people walking around Minsk, Grodno and stressing our people out – especially on the state border where our border guards are serving overtime. We are protecting this camp of 2,100 people. We have to guard it so that weapons do not make their way there. I've repeated this many times.”
Aleksandr Lukashenko stressed that the situation on the state border is heating up.
“It is clear with what goal. We understand this perfectly well. No wonder they assert that Lukashenko is to blame – followed by Putin. Belarus is to blame, then Russia is to blame. It is clear that this is aimed at escalating tensions. Look at what is happening in the Black Sea. Yesterday, the President of Russia and I had a long conversation on this issue. Americans and NATO forces behave abominably in the Black Sea. Therefore, they are deliberately fuelling up the situation there. However, we are not little boys to succumb to these incomprehensible movements,” he said.
As the President concluded, the situation on the state border is one of the pressing issues currently on the agenda.
