Lukashenko voiced Belarus' desire to raise its SCO status

During his meeting with the Russian leader, President Aleksandr Lukashenko said Belarus would like to raise its status within Shanghai Co-operation Organisation, BelTA reports

"I want to talk to you about the Shanghai Co-operation Organisation; we are observers within it,” Aleksandr Lukashenko addressed the Russian leader, Vladimir Putin. “Perhaps we will consult, and you will support the enhancement and upgrade of our status. A great deal of time has passed, and I think we will come in handy there.”
