Lukashenko: visitors to Intellectual Belarus exhibition incredibly impressed

At today’s meeting at the Palace of Independence, the Head of State drew attention to a number of topical issues, and holding of the Intellectual Belarus exhibition was among them. According to the President, it is not good that the show was initially planned to be open for three days only. Requests from the country’s regions have begun coming, and Aleksandr Lukashenko instructed to pay special attention to young people, college and university students – demonstrating the exhibits primarily to them.

“They [young people] are endlessly pressing all sort of phone, iPhone buttons – being convinced that nothing is being done in the country for the future. However, those who have visited it [the exhibition] marvel, wondering whether these are Belarusians who have done all they have seen. So let’s show [these exhibits] to our youth, so that young people can look into the future. After all, about a thousand exhibits demonstrate our prospects, and we need to show them to everyone. Therefore, I instructed that the exhibition should be extended and our young people should be taken there. What could our people – Minskers from the city where two million residents live – see in just three days? Let them get acquainted with what our scientists, specialists, and smart people are engaged into at present. Regions wonder why everything is being arranged in the capital, and they also wish to be shown everything. We need to take it [the exhibition] to at least regional centres, large cities. Let people see the result of our scientists’ work, and that our country has a future and prospects,” Aleksandr Lukashenko said.
