Lukashenko visited Chechersk Central District Hospital

During his visit to the Chechersk Central District Hospital, the Belarusian Head of State was keen to learn about access to medical care, the creation of inter-district centres in the Gomel Region and the birth rate in the area

“Is it true that the birth rate is increasing here?” asked Aleksandr Lukashenko .

“Yes!” was the answer.

Belarus’ Healthcare Minister Dmitry Pinevich reported that the state of health of the population in the Chernobyl-affected areas does not differ from the national indicators. According to him, special attention is paid to the issues of medicine in the region, and this concerns both the supply of modern equipment and personnel, with special focus made on haematology and endocrinology.

“Transplantation of organs and tissues in Gomel has become almost a routine,” noted Mr. Pinevich.

“There is more attention here, which results in the corresponding state of people’s health,” said the Head of State.

The President also wondered about the provision of medicines and the supplies of equipment.

Aleksandr Lukashenko was told that there are no problems in this regard and was reported in detail on the existing supply logistics.

“This is the main thing; there shouldn’t be any excuses that we have sanctions or something else,” concluded the President.
