Lukashenko: use of nuclear weapons is absolutely unacceptable
In his talk with The Associated Press, the President of Belarus, Aleksandr Lukashenko, shared his belief that the use of nuclear weapons is absolutely unacceptable, BelTA reports
The journalist asked the Belarusian leader to share his opinion on a hypothetical possibility of using nuclear weapons in the event of continuation of hostilities in Ukraine. He was also interested in whether Aleksandr Lukashenko considers it generally acceptable, whether this is a sort of a red line in this case.
"I absolutely believe that the use of nuclear weapons is unacceptable, also because it is close to us. It is not quite here, but it is not across the ocean like the United States. It is unacceptable in general... that our globe can be torn from orbit and we will fly away to no one knows where. The use of nuclear weapons is unacceptable," the President of Belarus unambiguously stressed.
Aleksandr Lukashenko added, “[To learn] whether Russia can or cannot, you need to ask the Russian leadership this question."
