During his address to the summit participants, Aleksandr Lukashenko thanked the President of Kyrgyzstan, Sadyr Japarov, for organising the work and noted that the session was taking place in difficult geopolitical and economic conditions, “However, we have managed to curb the problems in the currency and financial market – but the sanctions pressure does not weaken. It is rather increasing instead. Due to a global nature of the economy and the fact that Russia and Belarus are your largest trade and economic partners, the consequences of sanctions will affect all parties to a greater or lesser extent.”

The Head of State urged, “Therefore, we should not sit idle. I am addressing once again those who think that everything will pass by itself, and that they will be able to sit out safely. We are simply obliged to team up and act as a single whole. Obviously, we all need this. And there is no other way if we want to preserve our statehood, our union, and if we really think about the welfare of our peoples.”

Aleksandr Lukashenko believes the joint steps already taken are proof of that. This also refers to the decisions promptly taken by the Eurasian Economic Commission to enhance sustainability of the EAEU member states’ economies.
