Lukashenko: Union State is an example for other nations
The Chairman of the Supreme State Council of the Union State, President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko, has congratulated Belarusians and Russians on Day of Unity of the Peoples of Belarus and Russia
Dear friends!
I cordially congratulate you on Day of Unity of the Peoples of Belarus and Russia — a holiday symbolising our unbreakable brotherhood and strong friendship.
Being sovereign states, developing as independent nations, we are connected by common centuries-old history – the history of great victories in the name of the Fatherland and a heroic struggle for the peaceful future, for the right to live and work on our own land.
The love of freedom of Belarusians and Russians, their steadfastness and desire for creation make the Union State an example for other nations that have got tired of overseas expansion and its unprincipled methods of subordinating all people of the planet to interests of one superpower.
In order to be stronger than sanctions and dictates, we are expanding and strengthening the Belarus-Russia integration.
A big step forward has been made: an extensive package of Union State programmes has been adopted, and almost equal economic and trade conditions have been ensured – as it should be among fraternal peoples.
By creating the economically powerful and effective Union State, increasing the well-being of its citizens, we are using our historical chance to form a just community of free nations for the sake of the future of the succeeding generations of Belarusians, Russians and other people that are culturally and spiritually close to us.
I sincerely wish all of you, your families, relatives and friends good health, peace, happiness and prosperity.
