Lukashenko: Trump’s presidency to generate problems in Europe

With Trump coming to power in the United States, the problems will be not in Belarus, but in Europe – as stated by President Aleksandr Lukashenko after voting at his polling station today

According to Aleksandr Lukashenko, Europeans were talking not pleasantly about Trump, but – as soon as he won the election – they crawled across the Atlantic Ocean. “Some were crawling on the bottom, and some on top. Some people do not know how to approach Trump today. Europe has a difficult fate, you will have to wait. You need to feel concerned about that. With Trump as President, not Belarus will face problems, but Europe. They have already begun there. He told you straight out, and that was well done, I support him in that – although not in everything, but still I support. He asked you, "Are you guys ready to fight in Ukraine? If so, then pay 5 percent instead of 2 percent.” You are twisting and turning like snakes. You do not know how to find a way out of this situation. Trump wanted to bring Europe down, so he pulled Britain out of the EU. Why would this be necessary if America was aiming to strengthen the European Union? Nevertheless, he took it out – betting on who? These are Poles [whom he is betting on]. Doesn’t he understand that Germans and Poles are inveterate, old, I dare say, enemies. Don’t you know this, or doesn’t anyone know? You just keep quiet. Why are you splitting Europe, why are you betting on Poland? That’s the policy. They will bring you to such a state that you will not recover for decades or centuries. They have destroyed your economy, and what are the consequences? They are trying to destroy our economy – of Russia and Belarus. We are resisting, we are working. We have not crawled across the ocean bottom to Washington: we are working.”
