Lukashenko: training educated and responsible specialists is strategic area for economy

Training educated, competent and responsible specialists is a strategic area for the economy, a pillar of progress and security of our state — as noted by President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko at the grand opening of the Minsk City Technical Creativity Centre for Children and Youth on October 17th

The Belarusian leader emphasised that Belarus is one of the few countries that not just possess innovative technologies, “Our scientists create these technologies themselves. For instance, today, Belarusian enterprises use artificial intelligence, significantly reducing the time needed to turn a scientific idea into a concrete industrial prototype. Robots and other smart devices are being increasingly introduced into production processes. We can see that digitalisation is rapidly changing entire industries. It is making some professions obsolete and others highly sought after. That is why we are now placing a strong emphasis on training engineers, designers and programmers.”

Training educated, competent and responsible specialists is a strategic area for the economy, a pillar of progress and security of Belarus.

The state will continue to allocate funds in developing promising technical areas — robotics, nanoelectronics, complex self-learning systems and other areas of science — enhancing training, and strengthening co-operation between the education and high-tech enterprises, Aleksandr Lukashenko assured, “The new Technical Creativity Centre for Children and Youth should be a step in such training, where everyone who is attracted to scientific mysteries and discoveries could find their way into big science or real manufacturing. I hope that such tech incubators would be established not only in the capital, but throughout the country. We have enough facilities — we don't even have to build anything. We just need to rationally and wisely use what we already have.”

The President of Belarus noted that today, we need to look for talent from a very young age and create an environment for their education and professional growth, “There is no need to grudge money for it. Children need to be taken off the streets, distracted from wasting their time in front of gadget screens, taught to think and apply the knowledge they have gained in practice. This is important not only for the country, but also for them themselves — it’s a key to the future. I am confident that the centre's laboratories, equipped with cutting-edge equipment, training grounds and spacious classrooms, will contribute to achieving this goal and be a real gift for the capital's youth.”

Addressing the youth, Aleksandr Lukashenko emphasised that it is they, the new generation of scientists, designers, engineers and specialists, who will have to shape the tomorrow of Belarus in a few years, make and implement the decisions, which will shape Belarus’ destiny for years and decades to come, in laboratories, design offices and production workshops, “Studying at the centre gives you a unique opportunity to prove yourselves in innovative technical creativity in radio electronics, robotics and programming. Believe in yourselves!”
