Lukashenko: trade with Russia expected to reach record level by year end
The volume of mutual trade between Belarus and Russia may reach a record $60bn by late 2024 – as stated by President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko during today’s session on preparations for the Union State Supreme State Council meeting
The Head of State noted that, despite some unresolved issues, the volume of trade in goods and services between Belarus and Russia could reach $59-60bn this year, “This is a historically high trade turnover between the two states. But there are issues to which we have special attention and great interest.”
The President invited the participants of the meeting to an active discussion and asked them to report on the issues that are not being settled today, taking into account tomorrow’s agenda, “Everything should be frank. There should be no silence, not only at the Supreme State Council, but even more so at our meeting today.”
The meeting of the Supreme State Council of the Union State will be held in Minsk on December 6th under the chairmanship of the President of the Republic of Belarus, Chairman of the Supreme State Council of the Union State Aleksandr Lukashenko. The meeting will be attended by Russian President Vladimir Putin, heads of government Roman Golovchenko and Mikhail Mishustin, heads of the chambers of the parliaments of the Republic of Belarus and the Russian Federation Valentina Matvienko, Natalya Kochanova, Vyacheslav Volodin and Igor Sergeyenko, who are members of the Supreme State Council.
The meeting will be held on the eve of the 25th anniversary of the signing of the Union State Treaty. Its participants will consider the progress in the implementation of the Guidelines for Implementing the Provisions of the Treaty Establishing the Union State for 2024-2026 and the prepared Union State Security Concept.
