Lukashenko to take part in CSTO Summit in Moscow and hold talks with Putin on May 16th
The President of Belarus, Aleksandr Lukashenko, will pay a working visit to the Russian Federation – as reported in the Belarusian leader’s press service
On May 16th, the Belarusian Head of State will take part in the meeting of the leaders of the Collective Security Treaty Organisation (CSTO) in Moscow. The event is timed to coincide with the 30th anniversary of the signing of the Collective Security Treaty and the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the CSTO.
Alongside the anniversary theme, the leaders of the CSTO states will exchange views on topical issues of the current situation in the region and the world, discuss measures for joint response to emerging diverse challenges and threats.
Negotiations between Aleksandr Lukashenko and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin are planned in a bilateral format. One of the main topics of the conversation will be the development of co-operation and joint work on import substitution.
