Lukashenko to Putin on Beijing parade: we should be present here

The presidents of Belarus and Russia should attend a parade in Beijing celebrating the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Chinese People’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War – as stated by Aleksandr Lukashenko during his meeting with Vladimir Putin in Beijing, BelTA reports

"As for the parade, they came to us in Moscow and celebrated our Victory together with us [the talk is about President Xi Jinping’s presence at the May 9th parade in Moscow this year]. Of course, no matter how complicated it may be, we should be here. I’m grateful for being invited to this parade. After all, more than three dozen heads of state will be present at the parade," Aleksandr Lukashenko said.

As noted by the Head of State, the weather in Beijing is likely to become a small test, including for distinguished guests. “It's going to be hot, Vladimir Vladimirovich – up to 35-40C. It will be hot even for you. I am already thinking of how we will endure standing in the sun, but they say that [thermal comfort on a tribune] will be ensured,” he said.
