Aleksandr Lukashenko stressed, “According to the Constitution, the Belarusian People’s Congress has a strategic role to play in the comprehensive protection of Belarus’ sovereignty. The significant powers of this body of the people's power, which ensures the broad involvement of our citizens in the country's development processes, are eloquently indicated by the decisions it makes: plans for the socio-economic development in the coming five years, the National Security Concept, the Military Doctrine, and others.”
According to the President, this fully applies to the issues that should be submitted to the upcoming Belarusian People’s Congress for consideration. “The President's annual Address to Belarusian People and Parliament will be one of the main events, which will be simultaneously a report to people and a definition of tasks for the future. Answers to the most urgent questions will be given. The country has entered the five-year quality plan, and the Year of Improvement has been launched. The last year of the 2021-2025 plan is coming to its end. This determines the complexity of the tasks we face.”
