Lukashenko thanked Leningrad Region Governor for joint actions to perpetuate Great Patriotic War memory

At a meeting with the Governor of the Leningrad Region, Alexander Drozdenko, the Head of State expressed gratitude to the Russian region’s leadership for implementation of a very important and significant project for Belarus: transfer of soil from the graves of Soviet soldiers who died on Nevsky Pyatachok which is virtually soaked in the heroes’ blood

“In this way we are jointly perpetuating the memory of the Great Patriotic War and the feat of our victorious soldiers. This is coming to the fore now, since many people want to distort history these days and also put some of our heroic deeds into oblivion. In no case should we succumb to such tricks. Therefore, we will act along the direction we need to – in order not to be ashamed in front of our sons, and so that those who will replace us will thank us for this memory," Aleksandr Lukashenko said.
