Lukashenko signed decree on measures to ensure timely payment of salaries

The President of Belarus, Aleksandr Lukashenko, has signed Decree No. 3 On Measures to Ensure Timely Payment of Salaries – as reported in the Belarusian leader’s press service

The Directorate of State Labour Inspection at the Labour and Social Protection Ministry has been granted the right to issue employers with a demand to eliminate wage arrears. At the same time, it will be issued without the appointment of an inspection, subject to confirmation of the facts of violations. Such facts can be established as a result of studying the documents requested from the employer in connection with the appeal of a citizen or the receipt of information from a law enforcement agency.

Moreover, the decree envisages exemption from liability if the employer eliminates violations within the period determined in the requirement.

The procedure for the enforcement of the demand for repayment of arrears in the payment of salaries has also been determined. At the same time, the protection of the interests of citizens will be carried out without involving them in this process.
