Lukashenko sets task to focus on lucerne cultivation in Vitebsk Region
As he visited the Yubileyny agricultural facility in the Orsha District, the Head of State set the task to pay attention to lucerne in the region
Aleksandr Lukashenko noted, “We need to grow lucerne seeds, as these are great protein. We should try to cultivate them.”
The President was also informed on the potential timing of the start of the harvesting campaign. According to the Agriculture and Food Minister, Igor Brylo, harvesting of barley will begin in early July in the Brest Region, of winter rapeseed – on July 6th-7th, and of other crops – in the middle of the month.
During his talk with the Yubileyny leadership, Aleksandr Lukashenko asked of what crops are most promising for cultivation in the Vitebsk Region. “This is rapeseed,” Director Aleksandr Firsin replied. “We need to grow rapeseed, it brings profits.”
