Lukashenko sent condolences on death of Pele

The President of Belarus, Aleksandr Lukashenko, has extended sincere condolences to President of Brazil Jair Bolsonaro on the death of the great football player Edson Arantes do Nascimento, aka Pele – as reported in the Belarusian leader’s press service

“The Belarusian people mourn together with the Brazilian people and the entire planet in connection with a great and irreparable loss. The king of football, Edson Arantes do Nascimento, known as Pele, has passed away,” the message of condolence reads. “Three-time world champion, an unsurpassed scorer of all time. He turned every trick with the ball on the field into a masterpiece, which gave unforgettable emotions to billions of people.”

On behalf of the Belarusian people and himself, Aleksandr Lukashenko expressed sincere condolences to the President of Brazil, Pele’s family and friends, and the Brazilian people.

“The bright memory of this brilliant football player will always live in our hearts,” the Belarusian leader stressed.
