During today’s conference focusing on the harvesting campaign in the country, Aleksandr Lukashenko said that, this year, the average yield of winter barley is about 52 quintals per hectare. “The maximum of the grain harvested should be used for winter barley seeds,” he noted.

According to the Head of State, 60,000 hectares are currently allocated for this crop in Belarus. “This is nothing for our country,” he explained. “We need to have at least 200,000 next year and reach 300,000 hectares of winter barley acreage.”

The President also demanded to pay more attention to rapeseed, “If we want to earn money, we must have rapeseed – to get rapeseed oil and a good feed supplement.”
