Lukashenko: sanctions cannot restrain development of any country

Sanctions cannot restrain the development of any country, even a small one, President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko stated during today’s meeting on the construction and commissioning of a mining and processing complex in the Lyuban District

Referring to the production of potash fertilisers in the country, the Head of State noted that, according to Belaruskali Director General Andrei Rybakov, the enterprises have already reached the pre-sanctions supply level.

Commenting on this, Aleksandr Lukashenko emphasised, “We are developing this construction and extracting very useful and necessary mineral fertilisers, and we are not mistaken about that. Sanctions have been imposed on potash fertilisers. It is impossible to restrain the development of any country, even a small one, with sanctions. Those who impose sanctions once stood for globalisation and global connections. All countries are linked by this globalisation — how can any chain be broken today? It’s impossible. Mineral fertilisers will always be needed. Therefore, we will act in this direction."
