Welcoming the guest, Aleksandr Lukashenko stressed, “You are not just close people to us. You are our people. You have arrived in your Belarus. It’ll be this way forever. The latest events of recent years and days once again convince us that we need to be together. We have nothing to share. As soon as we start to divide, we will be divided.”

The Belarusian Head of State proposed to identify priority areas for joint work in the near future, “Time also dictates us to determine very quickly. According to our estimates, in 2021, the trade turnover between Belarus and the Samara Region was close to $700m and increased by almost four percent. This year’s figures are 59 percent down due to reduced imports of specific goods from Russia. At the same time, Belarusian exports show a good pace: a 20 percent increase compared to the corresponding period of the previous year. Although prices have risen this year due to reasons beyond our control, Belarus has practically not reduced the pace of imports from your region. We began to buy more sunflower oil, copper wire, and bearings. Meanwhile, this is not a complete list of products that we could purchase from you. We hope that your visit to Belarus will help balance trade. Everyone will benefit from this.”

The programme of the visit of the Samara Region delegation to our country also includes negotiations with Belarus’ Prime Minister, a visit to the National Academy of Sciences, AMKODOR, MTZ, Belkommunmash enterprises, the Snov agricultural complex, as well as the Great Stone China-Belarus Industrial Park.
