Lukashenko reported by PM and State Secretary of Security Council

On October 15th, Belarus’ President Aleksandr Lukashenko received detailed reports from Prime Minister Aleksandr Turchin and State Secretary of the Security Council of Belarus Aleksandr Volfovich, sb.by reports with reference to the Belarusian leader’s press service

The PM’s report covered topical issues on the domestic agenda, as well as co-operation with Belarus’ main partners in foreign economic relations. It also included the results of Mr. Turchin’s meeting with Russian Minister of Industry and Trade Anton Alikhanov, held in the morning of October 15th.

One of the main and distinct topics of the report was the performance of the Belarusian industrial sector as a whole. In particular, statistics showed a decline in production (due to both objective and subjective reasons) and exports in January-August of this year. The President urged the Head of Government to take the industrial sector seriously and focus on this area.

Following the personnel day on October 13th, the Head of State also thoroughly discussed the challenges facing Belarusian light industry and particular enterprises that have undergone leadership changes.

The primary focus of the report presented by State Secretary of Belarus’ Security Council Aleksandr Volfovich was the sudden inspection of the Belarusian Armed Forces, conducted under the President’s directive. The report covered the details of the inspection’s second phase and the first results in general. Additionally, the report addressed areas that the President had previously emphasised for special attention: the use of UAVs and electronic warfare, as well as the experience of the special military operation in Ukraine, which should be incorporated into the training of Belarus’ Armed Forces.
