Lukashenko: Putin and I are smart enough not to use old methods
The President of Belarus, Aleksandr Lukashenko, is convinced that Belarus and Russia will form a unity of two independent states, BelTA reports
The Head of State has met the Governor of Primorsky Krai, Oleg Kozhemyako, in Vladivostok today, admitting that he was happy to visit the remote territories ‘of our common Fatherland’. "We always say: from Brest to Vladivostok. This is our common Fatherland, on the territory of which two independent states are demonstrating the possibilities of building this unity now,” the Belarusian leader stressed.
Aleksandr Lukashenko noted that fears were sometimes voiced that Belarus would become part of Russia. “I say: Putin and I are smart enough not to use old methods. I say: we will build up such unity of two independent states that others will learn from us. They will learn – how to overcome sanctions, and so on!” the President emphasised.
