“Along the international track of the major priorities of the EAEU international activities in 2022 which are seeking approval today, I propose to focus on several key issues," Belarus’ Head of State noted. “Our joint work with foreign countries and activities of the [Eurasian Economic] Commission should, in our opinion, be primarily focused on solving practical tasks related to developing exports of goods and services.”

According to Aleksandr Lukashenko, China occupies a special place here, “I consider it necessary to focus on interaction with this country within the framework of the co-ordination of plans to develop the EAEU, the Belt and Road initiative, and the 2018 trade and economic co-operation agreement.”

Aleksandr Lukashenko added that it is necessary to continue the dialogue with Egypt and Iran to complete negotiations on free trade agreements, and also to intensify it with Israel. “It is expected that the preliminary work with Indonesia and Mongolia will be finished soon, and a decision on feasibility of starting negotiations with these countries on a free trade zone will be made,” he said.

Aleksandr Lukashenko believes effective protection of our Union’s economic interests should become an integral element of international activity in 2022 and in the long term.
