The Head of State drew attention to the fact the recent meeting with the country’s economic bloc tackled not only price surge. This topic has become one of the main ones, but the problem of a significant number of scroungers who do not want to get a job was also touched upon.

“We are now developing measures what to do with them. Mikhail Orda, the Chairman of the Federation of Trade Unions, correctly said [at a meeting with the economic bloc of the government] that several thousand do not work, but they receive social services, including education and especially healthcare, like everyone else. Is it fair? No, it’s unfair,” the Belarusian leader said.

Aleksandr Lukashenko stressed that the concept of justice has always been and remains at the heart of Belarus’ policy, “We will continue to adhere to it.” Meanwhile, the main goal of the meeting on prices and similar events is to remove points of tension and discontent among people.
