Lukashenko: price regulation concept should be based on fairness
The topic of pricing has been raised at today’s meeting with the President’s participation, and the Head of State stressed that there had been no talk of a total and permanent price freezing
“The price regulation concept should be based on fairness. You will not create your fortune on prices anymore. It concerns everyone,” the Belarusian leader addressed those present.
The Head of State informed that he had warned First Deputy Prime Minister Nikolai Snopkov ‘who is personally responsible for this’, “Everyone was tasked to develop price control and regulation measures, and I want you to hear it. We should develop pricing control measures. As for price freezing, October 20th (or until the Government’s decree comes into force) was meant.”
The President emphasised, “I repeat once again: there was no talk of a total, permanent price freezing – if someone failed to hear that. The talk was that so much ‘fat’ had been accumulated, and you will not convince me that there is none. This applies to everyone: businessmen, entrepreneurs and state-run company heads.”
