Lukashenko presented medal to a schoolboy who saved his sisters from fire
The President of Belarus presented state awards – orders, medals and honorary titles – to our best compatriots
Addressing the participants of the solemn event, Aleksandr Lukashenko noted, “In my eyes, each story deserves a separate description and separate words of gratitude. Unfortunately, not everything can be voiced.”
The President paid special attention, as it was emphasised, to ‘a person with a huge heart’: a pupil of the 8th grade of the Mokrany secondary school, Bogdan Sheleg, who was awarded the Medal for Saved Life, “It was he who carried his two younger sisters out of the fire on his burned arms. He broke the window and jumped into the burning house, probably not thinking about himself at the time. This is our future. Such heroes should be in Belarus.”
The Belarusian Head of State also congratulated the participants of the ceremony on the upcoming holiday: National Unity Day, “Let the well-deserved awards and titles become another steppingstone to new professional and creative victories in your life. I wish peace, happiness, and prosperity to you, your family and friends!”
