Lukashenko presented state awards on the eve of National Unity Day

The President of Belarus has presented state awards to representatives of various fields of activity during today’s solemn ceremony at the Palace of Independence. The event was timed to coincide with the upcoming National Unity Day: Belarus will celebrate it on September 17th. Orders, medals and honorary titles were awarded for many years of fruitful work, exemplary performance of official duties, courage and determination shown during the rescue of people during a fire, achievement of high production performance and development of innovative products, merits in education, medicine, science, culture, art and sports.

The Order of the Fatherland 2nd Class was bestowed upon Alexander Lyakhov, the General Director of the State Production Association Belorusneft – the General Director of the Republican Unitary Enterprise Production Association Belorusneft, while the Order of the Fatherland 3rd Class was awarded to the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the Russian Federation (2018-2022), Vladimir Semashko, and Chairman of the Supreme Court Valentin Sukalo.

The Order of Labour Glory went to two representatives of the Minsk Tractor Works: electric and gas welder Svyatoslav Veterets and steel shop operator Andrei Sviridov. The Director of the Molodovo-Agro Unitary Agricultural Enterprise (Ivanovo District), Stepan Khalko, received the same Order as well.

In turn, the General Director of Mostovdrev JSC Sergei Ososov, the Head of Belvtorchermet JSC’s Borisov-based workshop Nikolai Dakuko, and a master of the Vitsebskvtorchermet Production Unitary Enterprise’s Vitebsk-based workshop Yuri Roslyakov were awarded the Order of Honour.

The Medal for Saved Life went to Bogdan Sheleg, a pupil of the Mokrany secondary school (Malorita District).

A vocalist and a leading master of the honoured troupe of the Belarusian State Academic Musical Theatre, Margarita Aleksandrovich, received the People’s Artist of Belarus title.

Honorary titles were bestowed upon a number of representatives of various spheres.
