Lukashenko pardoned 15 convicts

President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko has pardoned 15 convicts by signing corresponding decree on January 24th, 2025, sb.by reports.by with reference to the Belarusian leader’s press service

Five women and three men who committed extremist crimes have been pardoned. Five of them have children, and one woman is pregnant.

Seven people (including three women) convicted of drug trafficking have also been pardoned. Six of them committed crimes when they were minors. One convict who committed a crime in adulthood was diagnosed with cancer.

Over the past year, on the basis of the principles of humanity, the President of Belarus pardoned 293 people, including 89 women and 17 people who committed crimes as minors.

"Every pardon is a manifestation of mercy, a chance to return to a normal life and become a law-abiding member of society," the press service noted.
