Lukashenko outlined serious problems that can only be solved together: security and economy
The security situation is deteriorating catastrophically all over the world – as stated by Aleksandr Lukashenko at the sixth summit of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia in Astana
The President stressed that there would be no winners in WWIII and addressed the global community, “Everyone should think about it, because the security situation is catastrophically deteriorating not only in Europe, but throughout the world. A network of conflicts that shook the Old World has already reached Asia. Moreover, the Western countries – by offering their peacekeeping services – are actually adding fuel to the fire, being not interested in de-escalation. Their goal is to set everyone by the ears, to split them and gain uncontrolled access to markets and resources.”
The Head of State added that Belarus, being a part of Greater Eurasia, cannot ignore the current state of affairs in the region, “I am convinced that the time has come to unite our efforts and jointly confront the problems that we have faced and that we cannot overcome alone. All conventionalities, protectionism and national egoism should remain in the past.”
Aleksandr Lukashenko also voiced the Belarusian side's understanding of the goals of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia, which aim to jointly create mechanisms for co-operation on a wide range of issues without harassment and sanctions.
“We need the most favoured treatment formats for trade and investment, open borders for goods, services, labour force, as well as new transport corridors,” the President of Belarus stressed.
