Lukashenko outlined procedure for participation of Belarus’ representatives in international events

Head of State Aleksandr Lukashenko has signed today decree No. 459 On Representation of the Republic of Belarus at International Events, sb.by reports with reference to the Belarusian leader’s press service

In accordance with the decree, from March 1st, 2025, the use of the words ‘Republic of Belarus’, ‘Belarus’, ‘national’ and ‘Belarusian’ in the names of cultural, sports and educational events, the purpose of which is to select persons for their preparation for participation and (or) for their participation in international events on behalf of the Republic of Belarus, is allowed only if the event is organised by a state-run organisation.

The National Beauty School is endowed with the status of a single co-ordinator for the organisation and holding of the Miss Belarus National Pageant, the selection of representatives of the Republic of Belarus to participate in international beauty contests.

The decree also defines the procedure for the participation of representatives of Belarus in international cultural, sports, and educational events, the documents on which provide for the representation of the state by only one person (team).

The representation of the Republic of Belarus at such events by an individual or a team will be possible provided they pass a national selection round or are sent to participate by a state-run organisation or upon the notification by a state-run body of their intention to participate in such an event.

These norms will ensure the protection of Belarus’ interests and will make it possible to train national participants for significant international events at the highest professional level.
