In his speech in a narrow format, the Belarusian leader outlined strategic directions in the CIS activities, and among them he named ensuring security and preserving peace, strengthening the CIS economies and the organisation's authority in the international arena, preserving the traditions of intercultural communication and humanitarian co-operation.

Following the summit, the heads of state signed a package of documents. The creation of the CIS Plus format was among the significant results. It will become a platform for co-operation between the CIS countries and other states, their associations and international organisations interested in establishing interaction with the Commonwealth of Independent States. Other documents on co-operation in various fields were also adopted.
