Lukashenko on unity within CIS: they will deal with us one after another if we do not stay as a single whole

Opponents will do away with each Commonwealth state one after another if CIS members have no unity – as stated by President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko at today’s meeting with the participants of the CIS Interior Ministers Council

The Head of State stressed that there may be a situation where any state in the Commonwealth would be unable to do without unity, “If we fail to understand this now, then they will do away with us one after another. Actually, if Russia collapses, then we will all be drawn into this funnel.”

Aleksandr Lukashenko recalled that, in 2020, it was an outright rebellion rather than a colour revolution in Belarus, “They chose the path of rebellion: to seize power by force – like fascists in 1941. The same situation – albeit its milder version – took place in Armenia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan. As far as we are informed, they [Western curators of the riots] have not left the sore spots alone in your countries, and they will constantly trigger them. Look, I earlier warned you…”

Touching upon the issue of countering terrorism, the Belarusian leader emphasised that the topic is now relevant in our region – ‘especially in connection with the activities of the West [primarily of the United States] in Ukraine’. “Therefore, the fight against terrorism is a paramount task. I always tell my minister: we will do nothing without the police. The police know everything. Policemen are everywhere, and they are equally represented by a district police officer and the Interior Minister. Everything depends on you in any country. The main thing is to get proactive information. We start to act if it comes from you,” Aleksandr Lukashenko said.
