Lukashenko on Ukraine conflict: light at the end of tunnel to appear this year
Speaking to journalists after voting at his polling station on January 26th, President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko predicts that this year there will be a certain resolution of the conflict in Ukraine
“There will be some kind of culmination this year. I’m not saying that the war will end. They will probably be in conflict for a long time. But there will be some culmination. The light at the end of the tunnel will appear this year. We support peace in Ukraine. We need to take everything into account now, including Russia’s position. No America will ever force Russia… You can’t press us either. We have our own interests, and Russia even more so. But we don’t want war, we don’t want people to die. Because millions will die. Who needs it? We need to stop now. And this is primarily in the interests of Europe. They understand this, but it is necessary to get rid of this American ‘aircraft carrier’,” Aleksandr Lukashenko emphasised.
