Lukashenko on Polish authorities’ statements: idle talk and dancing to Americans’ tune

The statements of the Polish authorities are the usual ‘idle talk and fuss to please Americans’, President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko told reporters during his today’s visit to Minsk City Technopark

In particular, Aleksandr Lukashenko said about Poland’s closure of checkpoints on the border, “Let them close all checkpoints. We don’t go there. They’ve imposed sanctions on us.”

According to Aleksandr Lukashenko, in such a situation we will not fight against those migrants who are heading to the West.

The Belarusian leader noted that the Polish authorities are unable to deal with the domestic political situation in their country and the upcoming election campaign, so they are trying to shift the attention of their voters to Belarus.

“They’ve got a lot to sort out there. But there’s a lot of problems. To avoid answering to their people, they blame others. Who? Belarus. It is better for them to yammer than to take any action,” the President noted.

The Head of State reminded that the fugitives are still discussing plans for an armed attack on Belarus from the territory of Ukraine or Poland, and warned, “They’re welcome to try, but they should be ready for a response. We see that they are training troops there and so on. We’ve been seeing it for a long time. But let them not think that these detachments will fight against Belarus. They are on the territory of Poland, and they can still use weapons against Poles. Lithuanians are ‘fed up’ with Belarusians: our nationalists arrived there (and are welcomed there) and began to argue that Vilna and others are still Belarusian cities. Poles don’t know what to do with our fugitives. Life goes on. We don’t have to worry much about Poles and everything that is going on with them. It’s just idle talk and dancing to Americans’ tune. Americans are now using Poles to destroy Europe (this is their goal, and under Trump administration this goal will only become stronger). It will be like with Ukraine, God forbid, of course.”
