Lukashenko on not awarding Trump the Nobel Peace Prize: I personally would advise him not to worry too much

During today’s meeting on the global international situation and the development of Belarusian-US relations, President Aleksandr Lukashenko commented on the fact that Donald Trump was not awarded the Nobel Peace Prize

The Head of State, in particular, noted, “The decision not to award Donald Trump the Nobel Prize, especially considering statements from various Nobel laureates, can also be understood. They promise that next year he will definitely receive the Nobel Peace Prize. Personally, I would advise him not to worry too much about not receiving the prize this time, because being among those outcasts probably isn’t the right place for him. Meanwhile, people worldwide should recognise and value the efforts of the United States of America and its President on the international arena. The opinion of the international community and people worldwide is more important than that of this politicised organisation. Sometimes I think that if any of us were offered this award, I would definitely refuse it. We are aware, based on our figures, of the contributions they have made towards achieving world peace. In reality, they have done nothing; instead, they have encouraged and driven Belarus towards this so-called war.”

Aleksandr Lukashenko finds it abnormal that the Nobel Peace Prize was given to the leader of the Venezuelan opposition. He said, “They awarded it to her because she fought for the destruction of Venezuela. Is that acceptable? However, if Donald Trump is promised the prize next year, then we can expect him to follow a policy of peace, at least until he receives the Nobel Prize. But it is certain that he will get it. I want to stress again that we should not congratulate him on this due to our views on the Nobel Prize.”
