Lukashenko on Duda’s demarche at Baku summit

Answering the questions of journalists, Head of State Aleksandr Lukashenko spoke about the demarche of Polish President Andrzej Duda at the climate summit in Baku. The Belarusian leader explained that it was about the Polish leader’s refusal to be photographed with other leaders, because Lukashenko was there.

“Nobody even noticed it! I was standing there quietly. The Pakistani PM came up, and many people came up to say hello. I also treated them respectfully, like a family. Nobody noticed he was gone. He sees that he was not noticed, and he started to PR that he did not go to be photographed. So, don’t go! My God, who was there waiting for you?” the President noted.

Aleksandr Lukashenko also spoke about Andrzej Duda’s speech at the summit, where he described how Poland allegedly protects flora and fauna, “Meanwhile, I was sitting and thinking: who put a fence around the Belovezhskaya Pushcha? Why do animals die there? They do terrible things! They have cut out this Belovezhskaya Pushcha, and he is talking about the protection of plants. I no longer began to ‘trigger’ him there, although I took note of the theses for myself. This is not the way it should be.”
