Lukashenko off to Oman on working visit

On December 14th, President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko went to the Sultanate of Oman on a working visit, sb.by reports with reference to the Head of State’s press service

“Negotiations with Sultan Haitham bin Tariq Al Said of Oman are scheduled. The leaders will discuss the state and prospects for the development of relations and areas where bilateral co-operation could be given additional impetus. The heads of state will also exchange views on the current international agenda,” the President’s press service noted.

The relations between Belarus and Oman are built on the foundation that was laid back in 2007 during Aleksandr Lukashenka’s first-ever visit to the country. Since then, the parties have significantly increased the legal framework for bilateral interaction, landmark high-level visits have taken place, and joint work is underway across a number of areas.

The main focus of Aleksandr Lukashenko’s current visit will be on trade-economic liaisons. It is about expanding trade turnover, developing co-operation in industry and agriculture, and other areas of mutual interest.
