Lukashenko: no party ever been vilified in Belarus, even BPF

In Belarus, no party has ever been vilified, even the BPF – as stated by President Aleksandr Lukashenko today after casting his vote in the Presidential election, BelTA reports

BBC journalist Steven Rosenberg asked the Head of State about his attitude to the situation when even his electoral rivals – i.e. the Communist Party leader – expressed their support for him.

“Steve, this is a new experience for you. What do you suggest to me in this regard? Should I be happy or sad about that?" the Head of State smiled.

The Belarusian leader commented with view of the policy that is being implemented in the country. “We have never vilified not a single party in Belarus, in the only country in the post-Soviet space – and this refers even to the Belarusian Popular Front. I congratulated Zenon Poznyak, whose point of view is completely different from mine, on his anniversary recently. I admit that he is a true revolutionary," Aleksandr Lukashenko said. “If it were for the policy they pursued in the mid-1990s, we would have been at war with you for a long time. Actually, we did not even press them – and especially the communists. As for the current communists, they are guided by the policy of justice, which is our policy. Why would they vote against me?"
