Journalists asked to clarify what exactly was meant when, a few days before his visit to Russia, Aleksandr Lukashenko spoke about the need to discuss and resolve a number of problematic issues.

“You know, we have not many problems but issues that need to be settled. The biggest of them – I talked about it [at the summit] – is related to our common energy markets: gas, oil, and so on. This is the major issue that needs to be resolved. There are transport, logistics, and secondary issues. If we go below them, to minor issues, we will see some misunderstandings in terms of the supply of our goods, especially agricultural, food products to the Russian Federation. This is the complex of issues," the Head of State said.

"Don’t they let [products] into the Russian market?” the journalist clarified, and Aleksandr Lukashenko confirmed, “True, we have problems with some goods. We understand this. There are periods of big milk yields. When there is much milk in Russia, then a braking process begins. This is wrong. I think we will resolve this issue at the Government level. I do not even discuss it with the President of Russia, since it is strange.”

Aleksandr Lukashenko also said that, during the narrow format meeting, Vladimir Putin spoke of about 15 percent shortage of dairy products in Russia. “We actually do not fully satisfy these needs, but some like it,” the Belarusian leader noted.

Answering the question on whether an agreement had been reached on some problematic issues, Aleksandr Lukashenko said, “I am talking about the entire EAEU here. As regards the Russian Federation, any issue raised is resolved within a few days."
