Lukashenko named key aspects of trade-economic relations with Voronezh Region

Industrial co-operation should become a key aspect of trade-economic relations between Belarus and the Voronezh Region – as stated today by the President of Belarus during his meeting with Voronezh Region Governor Alexander Gusev

The Head of State recalled that he had discussed this topic in detail with Oleg Kozhemyako during his recent visit to the Primorsky Krai, “As practice shows, it is co-operative interaction that lays a powerful basis for long-term relations and gives a good integration effect. When opening joint ventures, for example, we aim to increase the degree of their localisation, which is guaranteed to ensure the creation of new jobs in the region.”

Promising areas of collaboration include the construction sector, transport infrastructure and agriculture.

In particular, the President noted that Belarusian food traditionally enjoys demand in the Russian regions, and our country is ready to share its technologies, “We have been doing a lot for agriculture, we are currently implementing the third five-year plan for rural revival, tackling not only industrial production in the agro-complex, but also the social sphere...”

The Belarusian Head of State added that we also studied the examples of work of ‘giant agricultural holdings’ that operate in Russia and are carefully moving in this direction.

“As far as seed production, animal husbandry and breeding are concerned – if it is necessary – we are ready not only to show and tell, but also to help with seeds and livestock, so that you have your own reproduction,” assured Aleksandr Lukashenko.

Moreover, Belarus can offer its developments in the field of housing and communal services, including in the sphere of water treatment and sanitation.

“If our experience is useful to you – please study it, we are ready to join,” noted the President.
