Lukashenko named backgrounds for appearance of new Alferovs, Borisevichs, Vysotskys in Belarus

During the meeting held at the National Academy of Sciences, the Belarusian Head of State noted that the effectiveness of co-operation between science and particular enterprises, universities and technoparks is still insufficient

“Many instructions in this direction have not been fulfilled. What are the problems in this regard, what help and support is needed?” asked the President.

Aleksandr Lukashenko added that the topic of children’s technopark has also faded into the shadows, “When deciding to establish it, we thought first of all about the continuity of generations, about the formation of children’s interest in science from the school bench. I think that you will tell me today how adult science is involved in this process.”

The President asserted it is important that the chain ‘school – university – academic institutions’ works really, concretely and – most importantly – efficiently.

The Head of State wondered how talents are discovered and how do we follow their progress.

Aleksandr Lukashenko explained, “Such kids should be led to the profession of a scientist literally by the hand. Otherwise, in the future, new Alferovs, Borisevichs and Vysotskys will not appear in our country. This is the solution to the global problem of preserving and developing scientific schools. Each of you, dear academicians, corresponding members, doctors and professors, must be followed by your pupils. They are the confirmation of the viability of your ideas.”
