Lukashenko: Myadel District sets example of new farm creation
The Minskoblagroservice agricultural branch is an example of creation of a new agricultural enterprise – as stated by the President of Belarus, Aleksandr Lukashenko, during his working trip to the Myadel District, BelTA reports
As the Head of State was informed, the enterprise has 8,800 hectares of farmland, and the figure is planned to increase to 10,000 in the near future.
Aleksandr Lukashenko explained what is remarkable about this particular enterprise: it is a model for creating new farms, where – taking into account modern approaches – the necessary facilities have been created, including a good mechanical yard for storing and servicing energy-saturated equipment, and a grain drying complex has been built.
Agriculture mainly involves arable farming and animal husbandry, and plant-growing provides feed for animal husbandry. All this creates the basis for ensuring the operation and development of livestock complexes.
Old premises have been renovated and new ones have been built at the farm’s mechanical yard. There is a grain drying complex here, as well as a storage. Complexes of the kind are especially important for Belarus, since they make it possible to dry the harvested grain and put it into storage.
Aleksandr Lukashenko noted that mechanical yards and grain dryers have already been modernised at about half of the farms, and some still need serious work. At the same time, the facility in the Myadel District was created virtually from scratch – by combining previously inefficiently used farmland.
The President stressed the importance of involving unused lands in agricultural activities. There are only a few such large farms in the Myadel District, and the Head of State invited the local leadership to learn from the experience of the Dzerzhinsky agro-combine regarding integrated production development and satisfying of the domestic needs in feed. "This is an example of creating a new agricultural enterprise – with a mechanical yard, a grain dryer and farm complexes," the Head of State stated.
As noted by Aleksandr Lukashenko, more attention was paid to development of agro-towns and the social sphere some time ago. “We focused on agro-towns to create conditions for people, and we were slightly carried away by the social base. That resulted in disbalance. We are now focusing on the material base. A job means a salary. It is now the time for a rise of the material base. That is the idea and purpose of my visit,” he said, adding, “A farm should be established taking this one as a model. We need to invest funds and go forward very actively.”
The Head of State is convinced it is necessary to create similar new agricultural enterprises on the basis of old and inefficient farms, although it is not a cheap task. “We should progress along this avenue and restore order where it is needed. This is the future not only of the Myadel District, but also of the country," he said.
Aleksandr Lukashenko emphasised the importance of the Minsk Region for the country’s development as a whole, including in the agro-industrial sphere. With this in mind, agricultural production in the region should be brought to a high level.
"Agricultural development is our path,” the Head of State stressed, adding that the social sphere should also receive attention.
The Minskoblagroservice agricultural branch was established and registered on November 22nd, 2021. For this purpose, farmlands of inefficiently working agricultural organisations of the Myadel District were allocated. The agricultural lands make 8,800 hectares here, including arable land of 4,300 hectares. The area will be extended in the future. The branch specialises mainly in crop production with subsequent provision of poultry factories and pig breeding complexes of the Minsk Region with grain.
