Aleksandr Lukashenko warmly welcomed the guest, “I am glad to see you in such good health and in high spirits…”

The Head of State noted that he was deeply immersed in the events related to the celebration of the 1030th anniversary of Orthodoxy, “It was very nice to see a procession. Many people came, also arriving from Russia – to walk down the street and celebrate. This is very important for us, our Orthodoxy began from there. The Moscow Patriarchate supported this date, and a decision was made at the Synod. Therefore, I am grateful to you for coming to Belarus on this day.”

Aleksandr Lukashenko invited Patriarch Kirill to visit Belarus in days of the St. Euphrosyne Convent’s jubilee: its 900th anniversary will be celebrated in 2025. “I hope you will find time to come to us again…I will be happy to welcome you in Belarus – actually, at any time,” he said.
