“There are a number of issues that we need to discuss with you, since you are the largest company operating in Belarus. All this is due to the fact that I need to thoroughly prepare for a conversation, which will be soon, as we have agreed, with President Xi Jinping,” Aleksandr Lukashenko addressed Yang Jianqiang.

The Head of State noted that he had held a thorough and meaningful meeting with the President of the People's Republic of China on the side-lines of the recent SCO summit in Samarkand. “We discussed all economic issues of our co-operation, including the ones that are within your competence and responsibility. We agreed that, after the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, we will talk more thoroughly, in a working mode, about the economy, politics, and military-technical co-operation. Therefore, I need to find out a number of issues related to your company. I really hope that your current visit will not just clarify the situation on some projects, but we will be able to agree on their deadlines. Moreover, your visit will also give an opportunity to look into the future of our relations, especially in the building industry. The CITIC company is ready to work in Belarus and construct a number of enterprises using the most modern technologies. We welcome this,” Aleksandr Lukashenko said.

The CITIC Construction Co., Ltd. international company is a subsidiary of China's largest state-owned financial corporation CITIC Group. The corporation is among top 500 companies in the world. The main directions of its activity include turnkey construction of real estate, including industrial, infrastructure and sports facilities, and also export-import supplies of mechanical and electronic equipment. The company implements projects in the CIS, Southeast Asia, South America, the Middle East and Africa.

The company has been operating in Belarus since 2007. With its participation, construction of cement plants, organisation of the assembly of passenger cars (BelGee), and modernisation of the Orsha Linen Mill have taken place.

At the moment, the company is implementing three investment projects in Belarus: construction of a potash processing plant for Slavkaliy JSC, a multifunctional hotel and business complex along Minsk’s Pobediteley Avenue and a high-tech agro-industrial production of a full cycle for the Belarusian National Biotechnology Corporation.

A number of major investment projects are still under implementation.
