Lukashenko: loss of sovereignty by Belarus or Russia absolutely out of question
Realisation of the Belarus-Russia Union State programmes envisages economic integration, but any loose of the countries’ sovereignty is absolutely out of question now – as stated by the President of Belarus, Aleksandr Lukashenko, at today’s meeting on the implementation of the Union State integration programmes
“There was no talk that Russia or Belarus are sacrificing their sovereignty. This is not discussed now, and there can be no talk at all. There is just no need for that. We have not yet worked out the format in which we are co-operating with Russia,” the Head of State emphasised.
According to the President, if both sides see that something is missing and that additional solutions are needed to develop the integration processes, then relevant issues will be discussed.
Aleksandr Lukashenko explained why a large circle of responsible persons had been invited to the meeting, “So that you do not think that some issues are being resolved behind your back, while you have no idea of them. No, this process is open, honest and principled. Moreover, time is pushing us to such a solution to these problems.”
